Engagement Shoot London
Jill & Pete live in Italy so we had an initial Skype session to discuss their winter wedding in London and they were keen to include iconic sights in their photos. Being that it gets dark so early in the winter not allowing much time for photos after the ceremony and the added stress trying to manuever through the city on their wedding day we decided the best way to include iconic sights was by having their engagement shoot London. They were back in London for a few days last October and we’d booked in an afternoon for the shoot. Of course the moment we arrived it began raining in true British style, but not deterred by the rain and tourists we started by Big Ben and Houses of Parliament working our way along the Thames. In central London everyone is either rushing to get by or stopping to taking photos so it is very difficult to feel relaxed having your photo taken and trying to look natural, but Jill & Pete were superstars and just went with it. As we continued are journey east along the Thames we chatted about their wedding day ideas, stopping at various points to take photos and then chat some more. Engagement shoots are always a great opportunity to see how a couple interact with each other and get to know them better, and it was clear that Jill & Pete were a perfect match. Thankfully the rain stopped and the sun came out as we walked along the Southbank and they felt inspired for a ride on the carousel and quick dive into skate park. Eventually we made it to the millennium bridge with its stunning views of St Paul’s Cathedral, and once more battled the crowds to get our shot. We ended with a Christmassy photo that they wanted using fairy lights and I think it’s a really cute one of them together.
