Surrey Garden Wedding
Sophie & George
Sophie and George are a fun loving couple who know how to throw a dam good party! Their Surrey Garden Wedding was held at Sophie’s parents house and they got one of the hottest days of the year to celebrate in style. I first met with George and his groomsmen at a lovely country pub not far from the house. They were busy getting donned in their morning suits when I arrived and the banter was already firing off, which I always fully appreciate. It was out to the garden for a pint and a few photos then they then settled down for some food and that was my exit to leave. I headed over to the house to see Sophie and her bridesmaids for their prep which was remarkably calm and they look time to enjoy some morning champers before stepping into the dress. Sophie looked utterly gorgeous in an off the strapless number as did her team of bridesmaids rocking some fabulous silky teal. Outside the final touches were being made to transform the garden of Sophie’s parents house into a top wedding venue. The marquee was huge with fab decoration that fitted the garden theme perfectly. All very natural with an actual olive tree in the middle and greenery throughout. And a lovely touch with individual photos of every guest with a personal message for the name places. The ladies all set and it was off to the nearby church of St Leonard’s. It was a tiny church and there was a lot of guests squished in! And unfortunately not very accommodating from a photography point of view but I managed to find a small corner to hide myself in and work the angles as best as I could. The important bit done and then it was everyone on route masters back to the house for the main event. And what a glorious summer party is was, everyone was in the mood to celebrate with the happy couple. After a good few hours of drinks in the sun it was into the marquee for the wedding breakfast. The speeches were in between the courses and kept the lively mood in full swing. There was tones of laughing, chanting, whooping, cheering and napkins waving, what more could you want!! Then the couple hit the dance floor with some impressive spinning and twirling, then invited everyone to join them, which they all did and the dance floor was booming. Their wedding band was probably the best I’ve ever seen, if only for the sheer number of people in it. They weren’t any ordinary wedding band, these guys were mega they knew how to rock it. So I left wanting to join in the party but my work was done. Massive congratulations to Sophie & George, a fabulous day xx
