Sussex Country Garden Wedding
Emma & Josh
Emma and Josh had their Sussex country garden wedding at Emma’s parents house in Slinfold. The outdoor ceremony took place on the lawn in an open marquee with an amazing floral display by the very talented Mathew Dickinson. And the floral delights continued within the main marquee where the wedding breakfast was held, it really was a spectacular sight.
I started the morning with the groom Josh and his best man. They were both looking very dapper in their dinner suits and Josh had a fantastic pair of shinny shoes to top it all off. I left the boys and went over to the main house where Emma was having her hair and make up done, watched on my her beautiful bridesmaids, mum and adorable niece and nephew. This wedding was certainly a glamorous affair and Emma was without a doubt a super glamorous bride. She wore an incredible Jenny Packham dress, the like of which I have never seen before and she looked show-stopping! Josh had no chance of holding back the tears when he saw his beautiful bride walking down the aisle on her father’s arm.
The ceremony was really lovely, such a special moment for the family to have the wedding take place at their home. In the sky was a looming dark cloud but it held off for the duration of the ceremony and everyone got to witness the special moment when they said ‘i do’. Then the heavens opened and it rained hard. As the guests took shelter in the marquee the bride and groom had a moment to themselves waiting for the rain to stop. And it soon did and was followed by sunshine and blue skies, a pattern that continued throughout the day.
Reception drinks were held around the pool where guests enjoyed pink bubbles and canapés celebrating with the happy couple. Onto the wedding breakfast and after the main course had been served there was a slight interruption from some of the waiters. It started with what seemed like a little tif and they belted out a note or two, then to the surprise of the guests and the bride and groom themselves the singing waiters got into full swing. The act was very comical, the singing amazing and the look on Emma and Josh’s faces was priceless! Dinner continued and it was onto the speeches which were fab, they had everyone crying and laughing in all the right places.
As the sun started to lower in the sky I was treated to the Japanese Garden for couple shots with Emma and Josh. What an amazing space to have in someones home and the perfect backdrop for the photos. As the evening guests arrived the band got the party started and there was one last ‘wow’ moment to top off this fantastic wedding. Everyone gathered outside for a superb firework display which exploded above the main house, this really was the wedding that kept on giving!
This Sussex country garden wedding was glamorous, sophisticated and great fun. I throughly loved photographing it. Massive congratulations to Emma & Josh! xxx
