Wedding Gilwell Park Essex
When Scotland meets Essex you get Charlotte and Ben’s awesome wedding!! Kilts are cool, it’s fact! Visually they look great and it certainly does something to the guys wearing them…must be that extra breeze. So the day started at Charlotte’s house, which was full of laughter with her bridesmaids, and once her parents arrived swigging miniatures I knew it was going to be a fun day. I do say that every dress is stunning, but Charlotte’s really was. Covered in beautiful lace with elegant shaping and a low back to die for, she looked absolutely gorgeous from head to toe. The ceremony was held at the Catholic Church of Saint Peter & Paul in Ilford, a church which holds lots of memories as it is where the grooms parents were married many years before. Here waited the groom Ben looking very dapper in his tartan along with his best man and ushers. The ceremony was lovely, there were a few tears and I’m not surprised as these two are childhood sweethearts so it was a momentous occasion to see them wed. After the ceremony the B&G were whisked off in a cool looking vintage car (I’m not really sure what make but it was snazzy) and the bridal party in a white London cab to complete the look. The reception was held at Gilwell Park in Essex which is set in 108 acres on the edge of Epping Forest. The sun was out and everyone was in good spirits congratulating the happy couple. Inside the main room had been transformed for the wedding breakfast with white drapes and the table centerpieces creatively assembled with wood and copper pipes, handy that Ben is a plumber hey. Add to that some personalised M&M’s with theirs faces and room looked fab ready to welcome the guests. The bagpiper escorted the entrance of the new Mr & Mrs and it was straight into the speeches. Ben had been very nervous about doing his speech, even if people tell you it’s the friendliest crowd you’ll ever have it’s still a big deal to stand up. However through the nerves, and the tears of which there were quite a few, he was absolutely brilliant, endearing and funny, even when he wasn’t trying to be. Once all the formalities were over and done it was time to relax, enjoy and party, oh and finally see what was under those kilts!!!! Charlotte and Ben are a really lovely couple, it was wonderful to be part of their special day, I throughly enjoyed photographing it. Massive congratulations!!!
