Gemma & Gregory Wedding
Gemma & Greg’s wedding at Woldingam School was a classy, sophisticated affair. Woldingham School is nestled within a 700 hundred acre estate in a serene valley of the Surrey countryside. I was in awe as I took the long drive from the main road towards the school, all around is rolling farmland and green as far as the eye can see. The venue itself is a magnificent mansion house in the grounds Marden Park with wood panelled rooms and fantastic gardens including a pergola walk. Gemma was a very elegant bride, her fitted lace dress was absolutely gorgeous and suited her perfectly. The groom Gregory was looking very dapper himself in grey tails, laughing and joking with his groomsmen as his waited for his bride. The ceremony was perfect with beautiful readings and very happy faces as they walked back down the aisle husband and wife. We all headed out to the grand front steps for a group photo and after the big cheer the bride and groom were surprised by the arrival of a chimney sweep and his back cat! This was arranged by the brides mother and it is an old tradition dating back that brings luck to the bride and groom. The chimney sweep must kiss the bride and shake the groom’s hand. I’m sure any bride is going to be slightly reluctant to get black soot on her face but Gemma and Greg played the part and had the luck was bestowed upon them. The sweep and his cat (which sat on his shoulder the whole time) joined the guests for drinks and canapés on the lawn, enjoying all that the wonderful setting had to offer. The wedding breakfast was held in the Wilson Room which added a real sense of character and charm for their first meal as husband and wife. And they showed that they are not just a stylish couple but also fun and thoughtful with photos on each table of them with their guests, comedy face cards and some top trumps to keep the kids entertained! The day was topped off perfectly for me watching Gemma and Greg do their first dance which was a well rehearsed Foxtrot, I absolutely loved it, they were brill!! Massive congratulations to Gemma and Gregory, thanks for having me along to photograph you wonderful wedding!! xx
Kind Words from the Bride and Groom….
“Lynsey captured our wedding day perfectly, from the planned shots to the informal moments, to the small details that could be forgotten over time. She was great to share our day with and we couldn’t have asked for more.”
